One question for Dakota Banks.

I just finished reading Deliverance, the third book in the Mortal Path series by Dakota Banks. I am very curious if this is the last book, and if Dakota has other plans for paranormal books / series.

Three hundred years ago, she sold her soul to a demon. Now she wants it back.
For centuries, the woman calling herself Maliha Crayne has lived a second life - as an assassin for the malevolent creature who owns her soul. A haunted killer with the blood of countless victims on her hands, she has finally discovered a way to nullify the demonic pact that chains her: If she saves a life for every one she has taken, she will be free.
But if she fails, her punishments will be unspeakable, unendurable . . . and neverending.

Aren’t those covers gorgeous?

Aurian: Hi Dakota, can you please tell me and my readers what your plans are for the future? I know you are also writing suspense as Shirley Kennett, but I am really hoping for more paranormal books, as I truly love them. Your heroine, Maliha Crane, is unique and I like her a lot.

What are you working on at the moment, what have you finished that is not published yet, are there even more genres you want to try?

Dakota: I appreciate your interest in the Mortal Path books! The series is alive and well, if temporarily taking a back seat to other publishing ideas.

I plan to independently publish book four in the series, Bloodletting. My publisher was going to take the direction of ebook and Print on Demand only, so I thought if they can do it, so can I! I don’t have a time frame for release now because I’m launching a Young Adult science fiction trilogy, Aftermath, and I’m hoping to make a big splash with it. I’m trying something new with Aftermath by having a blog to involve readers from the very beginning, learning about the characters, the story, and the frustrations of getting published, and offering prizes at milestones along the way.

While waiting for responses from New York publishers on Aftermath, I’ve found that once bitten by the indie bug, I have to do more! I have a New Adult science fiction book Agent (based on a published short story of mine) and a Middle Grades adventure novel Honor’s Journey that will both be making an appearance as indie books soon. All of these books that are outside Urban Fantasy will come from a new pen name, DB Ayers.

If that’s not enough to keep track of, my Shirley Kennett suspense novels have all been brought out in ebook and audio format. So it’s hard to keep my “names” straight these days!
