The Sheikh's Bidding by Kristi Gold
Sheikh Samir Yaman wanted Andrea Hamilton's attention; he was her late brother's best friend, her first lover and he'd just learned he was the father of her son! His royal duty had torn them apart. But now he swore to claim his family and hold them close forever.

I enjoyed this story. Andrea has been a single mother after one night of passion with the man she was in love with for a long time. But Samir had to go back to his own country, and she never heard from him again. She has built a life for herself and her son, training horses, and keeping their small farm afloat.
But now he is back. And when he discovers that her son is his as well, he doesn't know what to do. He has to go back home in a few weeks time, and marry another woman, one his family has chosen for him. It is a political marriage, and he is honorbound to do so. But leaving Andrea behind for the second time, and their son, will break his heart.
Andrea has never stopped loving him, but she is a grown woman now, no longer a young girl. She will take whatever pleasure he can give her, and live on the memories. But for Samir it is not enough, he wants more.
How can he choose between his heart and his honor?

Delaney's Desert Sheikh by Brenda Jackson
When Delaney Westmoreland reluctantly agreed to share a secluded cabin with arrogant sheikh Jamal Ari Yassir who was bent on seduction, she found herself enrolled in a crash course in human sexuality. Unfortunately, commitment and love were the missing words in her darkly handsome mentor's vocabulary.

I DNF-ed this story after a few chapters. I could not stand Jamal and his view of women. Nor his fixation on having sex with Delaney even when she keeps saying no.

Desert Warrior by Nalini Singh

The fabled desert kingdom of Zulheina was Tariq's birthright, and he was a man who held tightly to what belonged to him. And that meant he had to reclaim the woman who had captured his heart years before in New Zealand. And once he had lured her to this exotic land, he meant to keep his new bride here forever...

I love Nalini Singh's paranormal romance series, and this is my first contemporary romance by her. And I loved it to pieces. I cried buckets while reading it, I so felt for Jasmine. She had a very unloving childhood, and had to choose between her family and Tariq when she was 18. She was so unsecure back then, and made the wrong choice. But she is no longer the young girl of 18 who left him, she is a grown woman now and she knows what she wants. But he keeps claiming he will never love her again, never be so weak again, and he doesn't trust her or her commitment to him.
Yes, I loved this one. Go and read it, even if you are not a fan of Sheikh stories.

10 stars.

  2. As you know I like my sheikhs, so this sounds good. I've already read the Nalini Singh one, and loved it too!
