When three separate heroines place orders at the same online shoe store-www.hiheelia.com-they receive shoes that not only look fabulous, but also give them superpowers that help them find true love and take charge of their lives.

I picked this book for the Julie Kenner story, A step in the right direction as I really like her Aphrodite's series, and this story is part of that. It is also the only story in the book I finished.
A young woman is being walked all over by her boss and her co-workers, and her friends really think she needs a backbone, and a social life. When Lydia buys a pair of fabulous boots online, her life dramatically changes. She saves a woman's life, she gets fired, and she meets a real life superhero. The hero in the comics she loves to devour is real? She doesn't know she is ruining his mission, and somehow they keep bumping into each other. Nikko thinks she is a Protector too, new on the job…

I enjoyed this story. It was sweet and fun.

The other two stories were DNF though. The Jade Lee story, Kung Fu shoes, I got about half way, before I gave up. The last story, Karma Kitty goes to Comic Con, by Marianne Mancusi was just too idiotic to read after only 2 pages. I know this is fiction, but there have to be some believable elements in it for me.

So, with 2 out of 3 stories DNF, I have to catalogue this as a DNF review. If you are a fan of these authors though, you might enjoy those stories.

no stars.

  1. That book cover is cringe-worthy, haha. I'm glad you enjoyed one of the stories at least. :-)

    1. I did like the title Diana, but 1 out of 3 is not good enough.

    1. Yes, I am glad as well. I am not sure what I would have done with the book otherwise.
