Recommendations from Peggy for March 2014.

In order to bring some more variety to my blog, I have asked some of my bookish friends to tell about the books they have in the past month, and to give us a recommendation. Today’s post is made by Peggy from Belgium.

Peggy:

I have read 11 books in the past month, and the 3 books I enjoyed the most are:

1. Foreplay – Sophie Jordan

2. Fourth grave beneath my feet – Darynda Jones

3. Awaken to pleasure – Nalini Singh

The one I can recommend to all Aurian’s readers is:

Sophie Jordan - Foreplay

Pepper has been hopelessly in love with her best friend's brother, Hunter, for, like, ever. He's the key to everything she's always craved: security, stability, family. But she needs Hunter to notice her as more than just a friend. Even though she's kissed exactly one guy, she has the perfect plan to go from novice to rock star in the bedroom: take a few pointers from someone who knows what he's doing.
Her college roommates have the perfect teacher in mind. But bartender Reece is nothing like the player Pepper expects. Yes, he's beyond gorgeous, but he's also dangerous and deep - with a troubled past. Soon what started as a lesson in attraction is turning both their worlds upside down, and showing them just what can happen when you go past foreplay and get to what's real. . . .

This is my first book I read from Sophie Jordan. After seeing this book for the first time, I really was intrigued and I wanted to read it. I wasn’t disappointed. I really love this story and I’m looking forward to the next book in this series.

Pepper her life hasn’t been easy. Her father died when she was young and her life with her mother wasn’t good. Then her mother left her with her grandmother. Who brought her up. Now Pepper goes to college and does some babysitting to earn money. She has one big dream, she wants what she didn’t have as a child. A happy, normal family. And she believes that the one person who can have her this is Hunter, her best friend’s brother but there’s a little problem with her fantasy. He has a girlfriend and he thinks of Pepper as a friend, nothing more. So her love for him stays a secret crush until she gets a call from his sister telling her that he’s single again! So this is her big chance to make him fall in love with her.
But how does she do that? She only kissed one boy. So she decided to learn it from an expert. Her roommates convince her to go to a bar and flirt with the bartender there who’s famous on the campus for being a big player. But when she sees him, she recognizes him. He’s the boy who helped her one night when her car broke down.
Night after night she goes to the bar and tries to flirt with hem and but he isn’t acting like some big player. Then he finds out what her plan is and he’s prepared to teach her how to seduce Hunter.
But the more time they spend together the more she thinks of Reece instead of Hunter.
And then finally Hunter is seeing her as more than a friend. So she has to choose, does she choose for Hunter who can give her security, stability and the family she always dreamed of or does she choose for Reece, who gives her passion and has the same difficult background as her? She makes a choice but is it the good one? Then one night something happens… something that will change everything.

Aurian: Thanks for the recommendation Peggy! I have only read Nalini Singh’s paranormal books so far, and I still have to read Fourth Grave. I don’t think the Sophie Jordan book is for me though; New Adult is not really my genre. How about you, reader?

  6. I have the Sophie Jordan, but haven't read it yet, so I appreciate the review, and I need to catch up on my Charley Davidson. I've also never read any of Nalini Singh's non-PNR, so that looks interesting too!
