Telepathy is the Lyon family birthright. And now all of them must combine their individual powers to combat the Hivers – a relentless race that has slaughtered entire populations in its search for a new home...

This book pick ups where book 3 ended, and you really need to read this series in order to enjoy it the most.

Laria is doing well on Clarf, but her new assistant is xenophobic, so she really needs to be replaced. Clarissa is a danger to them all, if the Mrdini find out. Her replacement is a severely burned out T-2 Talent, and Laria immediately likes him. Unfortunately, he is gay so he cannot be the lifemate she so desperately wants and needs. Slowly Kincaid heals and finds his place in the Towerlife, and with Laria’s family on Auriagae.

Jeff Raven is trying to matchmake his grandchildren, by sending them other T-1 and T-2 Talents, but to no avail. His grandchilden have already made up their minds about who they want as their life mates, but they are not in a hurry to seal that bond.

The next few children of Afra and Damia are ready for their assignments, and first they are send to relieve Laria for a while. They do well on Clarf, and they have a good time socializing with their fellow humans in the human colony there.

I really enjoy following multiple story lines in this series, as I like all the main characters. Of course bad things happen as well, as when Rojer looses his Dinis to a mad Mrdini Captain who wants to coerce Rojer to destroy a Hiver World for his color’s honour.

8 stars.

  1. You do enjoy your binge reads! First Gail Carriger, and now Anne McCaffrey. Your comment from yesterday has me stalking Bertrice Small on GoodReads now too. Temptress!
